From here, the Porsche GT4 ePerformance test vehicle will travel to other places in Europe, including Germany and beyond, over the next two years, demonstrating the potential of the cutting-edge vehicle concept and the possibilities of racing formats associated with it to motorsport customer teams, partners and decision-makers in the motorsport scene.

The GT4 ePerfromance all-electric sports car is the second fully-electric Porsche after the Porsche Taycan 5-seater sports saloon. It is based on the technical components of the Porsche Mission R concept and is built on the chassis of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Its electric powertrain and battery technology are derived from the Mission R concept, and it puts out a maximum of 800kW or 1,073 horsepower output.
According to a Porsche press release, under simulated racing, the GT4 ePerformance achieved a steady 450 kW or 603 hp for 30 minutes – the duration of a Carrera Cup race. Porsche also says the performance is on par with the current 992-generation 911 GT3 Cup in terms of top speed and lap times.
The GT4 ePerformance can also charge from 5 percent to 80 percent in just 15 seconds, thanks to Porsche’s 900-volt charging technology.

Porsche also mentioned that it had to redesign some 6,000 parts for the Porsche for the GT4 ePerformance. The GT4 ePerformance body uses natural fiber composite materials, the production of which is said to generate fewer emissions than that of similar synthetic materials.
The GT4 ePerformance also features flared fenders which make it 140 mm wider than the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. This allows enough room for the wider 18-inch Michelin tires, which are largely made using bio-based and renewed materials.
